In a World of Wounds

In a World of Wounds

30 August 2018 to 9 November 2018 – Sydney
Emerging Curator

Curated by Talia Smith

No matter how hopeful we are about the future, images of apocalypse, ruin and disaster are proliferating. In Greek mythology, Atë was the daughter of Zeus and a goddess of mischief and delusion. She brought about ruin, blinding all those to their flaws. Now more than ever, it could be argued we enact Atës’ catastrophe. Man has become both the central power and its victim.

In a World of Wounds is an outcome of Artbank’s emerging curators program and brings together a diverse range of artworks from the Artbank collection as well as a number of select loans, exploring the ongoing impact of human action on the planet.
