Conscious Process draws together a diverse group of contemporary Australian artists whose approach to making their work is almost an artwork in itself. From building an entire set to create the perfect photograph, to manipulating screen-printing processes, this exhibition draws on artworks recently welcomed to the Artbank collection from artists employing a wide range of media. Investigating artists working with an immersive studio practice, labour intensive post-production techniques and those fleshing out their ideas on the canvas, Conscious Process showcases artworks where the final product is a manifestation of a deliberate engagement with creation.
